The Physician's Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive Dermatological care including, but not limited to medical, diagnostic, and procedural Dermatology and possesses advanced clinical knowledge and competence to function in a variety of roles. She/he holds a scope of practice and practices in collaboration with a physician.
The PA provides guidance and continuity for dermatology Fellows and Attending Physicians in the outpatient clinics at Brockton, West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain campus in their provision of care to patients. She/he will assist them in addressing all aspects of care by the promotion of safe practices as well as the encouragement of effective use of V.A. resources. In addition, she/he will have clinics located at the Brockton, West Roxbury & Jamaica Plain Campus as determined by the Chief of Dermatology and medical administration.
WORK SCHEDULE: Part Time, 24 hours/week, 8am-4:30pm, schedule to be determined

(1) Current and continuous certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required for employment in VHA.
(2) Recent PA graduates who are eligible to take the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) may be employed by VA on a temporary basis (38 U.S.C. 7405), for a period not to exceed two years, as provided in VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, Section G, Paragraph 5.
