This position is located at Fort McCoy, WI. Fort McCoy's Whitetail Ridge Ski Area provides the community and the public with multiple opportunities for outdoor winter recreation. The 200-acre facility is also used for military training. Whitetail Ridge is open from approximately mid-December through mid-March, weather permitting. Snow-making and snow-grooming equipment located on site keeps slopes in optimum condition. More than 20,000 people enjoy the facility each year.
Downhill skiers/snowboarders of all levels will find four groomed and lighted ski runs - the longest exceeding 1,300 feet-equipped with a self-loading T-bar lift.
The facility is recognized by the National Ski Patrol, and patrol members monitor activity on the slopes to promote safety and to attend to any injuries. Snow tubers can enjoy the excitement of sliding down an 800-foot slope. The five tubing runs are equipped with a separate rope tow, making the journey to the top of the hill as enjoyable as the trip down. When natural snow conditions are sufficient, cross-country skiers have access to more than 5 miles of groomed trails. Snowshoers also will find opportunities for fun. Tactics Paintball and Laser Tag is also located at Whitetail Ridge. Groups of five or more can be accommodated.

Employee will be responsible for answering phones, waiting on customers, fitting customer with skis and/or snowboards. Assists and monitors the customers on the ski or tubing lift for safety, hooking and unhooking tubers, and assisting in the kitchen operations snack bar and cleaning the facilities. Collects fees, issues, receives, sells or rents merchandise, sports equipment or tools, (such as skis, boots, poles and sleds). Receives returned items, inspecting for obvious damage and missing parts. Provides facility and program information to patrons. Maintains recreation area, tools and equipment. Courteously assists patrons at ski lift to ensure correct approach and usage of equipment. May operate snowmobile for transportation. These are Flexible on call positions and employee may work up to 40 hours per week but is based on peak seasons and mission requirements. May be assigned to other activities based on mission requirements. Flexible positions are not entitled to benefits.
