VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System (VAEK) is currently recruiting for a Physician, Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS), located in the Chief of Staff Service. The DCOS must be a board-certified physician and will report directly to the Chief of Staff.
Duties to include but are not limited to:
Work Schedule: Primary tour of duty will be 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday; some of the clinical activities will occur outside VA administrative hours.
Physical Requirements: Heavy lifting (45 lbs and over); reaching above shoulder; use of fingers; walking (3 hours per day); standing (6 hours per day); kneeling (2 hours per day); both legs required; ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously; near vision correctable at 13" to 16"; far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other; ability to distinguish basic colors; hearing (aid permitted).
Preferred Experience: Recent experience of 2 or more years leadership

Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g.,
professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student;
social). Volunteer work helps build

experience, including volunteer experience.
