The Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center (PRRC) and Intensive Community Mental Health Recovery (ICMHR) Services programs are an integral part of the Medical Center meeting its mission/vision in the area of recovery and psychiatric rehabilitation. The purpose of this position is to coordinate and supervise rehabilitation programs for Veterans with serious mental illness throughout the Medical Center. The scope and effect of the position are reflected in the diverse treatment and services provided. The treatment aspect of the program consists of assessment, diagnosis, educational activities, individual therapy, group therapy, case management, consultation, and community reentry to promote the overall psychological, social, and health adjustment of the patient ultimately leading to the resumption of an appropriate level of functioning in the family and community.
The incumbent serves as the Supervisory/Program Manager, PRRC/ICMHR Services in the Department of Mental Health located in the Geriatrics and Mental Health Services Directorate. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating interdisciplinary staffing, work assignments, budget and various control points assigned to the programs, treatment services provided, accreditation compliance, and admission/discharge criteria. He/she provides supervision to the interdisciplinary staff in the Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center (PRRC) and Intensive Community Mental Health Recovery (ICMHR) Services programs.
The Supervisory/Program Manager, PRRC/ICMHR Services is responsible and fully accountable for all aspects of clinical care, as well as administrative, fiscal and personnel management related to the provision of specialty services to Veterans and Active Duty Service Members, and DoD Beneficiaries seeking care within PRRC and ICMHR. The incumbent is responsible for the overall management, operation, and supervision of the assigned program staff. He/she coordinates with the other Program Managers and the Mental Health Department Head in such areas as organizational and functional design, operational problem solving, program evaluation, systematic internal review, long and short range goal setting, planning, budget administration and coordination with other services. The Supervisory/Program Manager for the PRRC/ICMHR Services must possess a sound and in-depth understanding of both clinical and administrative programs, including activities in support of clinical care, education and research programs within Geriatrics and Mental Health Services.
Major duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; no evening, weekend or holiday hours.

Physical Requirements: To perform in a fully successful manner, the individual must have the physical ability to perform job-related duties which require light lifting (under 15 pounds), prolonged sitting (up to 4-7 hours per day), use of both fingers, use of both hands, walking (up to 4-6 hours per day), standing (up to 6-8 hours per day), use of both legs, use of both eyes, depth perception, ability to distinguish basic colors and shades of colors, and hearing (aid permitted). In addition, the individual will be working closely with others and incur protracted or irregular hours of work. A health examination must be successfully completed prior to this assignment and periodically thereafter as required by the Occupational Health Clinic policy. There will be intermittent exposure to blood and body fluids.
