The New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS) is seeking a qualified eager candidate for the Administrative Officer (AO) for the Anesthesiology Service. The Administrative Officer reports to the Chief of Anesthesiology Service at the New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMYAHCS) and is responsible for providing a variety of management services essential to the direction and operation of the Service. Assigned duties include providing direct assistance to the Chief, Anesthesiology Service in managing the administrative operations of the Service.
As the AO for Anesthesiology Service, major duties will include:
The incumbent supports and assists the Chief, Anesthesiology Service by providing analysis of pertinent data leading to specific recommendations for resource allocation to the various Primary Care programs and clinics; recommendations for setting priorities for purchase of new medical equipment; evaluation of nonclinical aspects of employees; identifying and providing for service and program training needs. Provides administrative supervision for all planning, directing, organizing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the overall administrative operations of Anesthesiology Service. Monitors and evaluates all administrative activities. Assures daily Anesthesiology Service operations run smoothly, and assures maximum efficiency and effectiveness in utilization of human resources, space, supplies and other resources is assured. Establishes procedures throughout Anesthesiology Service to collect appropriate data to track qualitative and quantitative performance assessment, extract useful and necessary information, and then prepares/supervises preparation of appropriate reports. These include quality improvement activities, required fiscal and HR reports, management briefings at the care line or facility level, reports. Validates and analyzes data of workload for purposes of optimizing program/product line management. Makes recommendations to the Chief, Anesthesiology Service based on such analysis. Monitors workload productivity in all aspects of services provided by Anesthesiology Service from the perspectives of efficiency and effectiveness. The incumbent assists the Chief, Anesthesiology Service, and other administrative staff in the preparation of administrative portions of research support applications, and the development of scheduled reports to appropriate authorities concerning ongoing research.
