Major Duties:
- Applies cyber operations knowledge in the planning, research, design, development, test, evaluation, integration, acquisition, dissemination, sustainment, modification and/or exploitation of complex electronic systems to support the organization's mission objectives.
- Utilizes scientific inquiry in the development of models/simulations and/or computer programs to evaluate and predict the ability to support assigned projects, studies, or problems.
- Provides technical guidance, advisory support and assistance.
- Attends meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to program planning, advanced technologies, and support system concepts.
- Accomplishes professional development and maintains technical proficiency.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.
DoD Components with DCIPS positions apply Veterans' Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 USC, in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Position is designated critical-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
2. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic drug testing.
3. Position may require temporary duty travel (TDY) utilizing military and/or commercial transportation.
5. Positions which perform information security as an inherent, primary purpose of their position: Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
6. Incumbent may be subject to periodic polygraph testing.
7. Broad knowledge of IA and MA technologies such as COMSEC, COMPUSEC, EMSEC and OPSEC, Computer systems, digital communications systems, network protocols, and computer architectures, and computer security penetration tools and techniques is required.
8. Cyber Mission Force (CMF) training specified in the USCYBERCOM Cyber Mission Forces Training and Readiness Manual; and AFSPC Guidance Memorandums 10-01 Cybercrew Training, 10-02 Cybercrew Standardization And Evaluation Program, and 10-03 Cyberspace Operations, is a condition of employment. Depending on experience and skill levels, portions of the CMF training may require incumbent to perform an extended TDY for a period of 3 to 6 months. The incumbent must achieve and maintain appropriate CMF requirements as specified in Job Qualification Record (JQR) within 18 months of assignment of these duties. Failure to achieve and maintain CMF requirements may result in removal from this position.

Successfully completed a professional engineering degree: The curriculum must be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum or include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS.

Combination of education and experience that is college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering; and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: 1515 OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major field of study or specific course requirements in: operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: 1550 COMPUTER SCIENTIST
Requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
