Basic Qualifications:
A. I have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study leading to a Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Note: You must provide your transcripts.

B. I have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study leading to a Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering that included differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. C. I do not have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, however, I have completed 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences, and that included the courses specified in B above. D. I have successfully completed a curriculum leading to a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field such as engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology AND I have at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. This included either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence or I have several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions. E. I have successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. Note: You must provide documentation.

Additional Qualification Requirement:
A. At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 level (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience must include activities such as: (1) monitoring construction projects for new construction, renovations, and improvements to real property facilities from start to finish; (2) performing architect and engineer design or design review assignments within established time frames; (3) performing a wide range of engineering duties surrounding operations and maintenance functions to encompass the maintenance, repair, upgrade, and operation of a variety of infrastructure facilities and utilities; and (4) acting as a project liaison with engineer firms or other design agencies.

B. Completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years (54 semester hours or equivalent) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. This education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position. NOTE: You must submit copies of your transcripts.
OR
C. An equivalent combination of the specialized experience and graduate level education described above. Note: Only education in excess of two years (36 semester hours or equivalent) is creditable toward meeting the experience requirement when combining experience and education. To determine if you qualify under this combination first divide your total months of qualifying specialized experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond two years by 18. Finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. NOTE: You must provide copies of your graduate transcripts before the closing date of the announcement.
