WHAT IS THE FUTURE LEADERS IN TRAINING FOR EXCELLENCE (FLITE)? The Future Leaders in Training for Excellence Program offers well qualified individuals the opportunity to receive structured professional leadership development and experience. During the thirty six (36) month training and development program, all candidates will participate in a pre-classroom orientation, complete ELMS and other online courses, complete Career Learning Plans, and attend leadership-training classes (on-line virtual and/or face-to-face budget permitting) and participate in a variety of developmental assignments. In addition, candidates will be assigned a mentor and receive one two week shadow assignment and a 60-day minimum developmental acting assignment. This acting assignment may result in a temporary promotion. No further competition will be needed for any temporary promotions to a Frontline Manager position if more than 120 days for those selected under this FLITE announcement. While on an acting assignment, you may advise/counsel employees, complete performance appraisals, control workload flow, set goals timelines and completion schedules.
WHAT IS THE WAGE & INVESTMENT DIVISION (W&I)? The Wage & Investment Division (W&I) serves about 122 million taxpayers who file upwards of 94 million returns each year. Key W&I objectives are to provide high-quality taxpayerassistance, and to enable taxpayers to transact and communicate electronically to file their returns, make payments and receive assistance. W&I partners with private organizations to provide assistance to such disadvantaged groups as elderly and low-income taxpayers.
