Serve as Section Chief responsible for the accomplishment of Omaha District's dam safety program and other geotechnical engineering efforts. Apply advanced engineering theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods to dam design, monitoring and evaluation, and rehabilitation and repair. Supervise, plan, direct, organize, assign, coordinate, and review work of subordinate employees engaged in technical engineering, analyses, construction operations, contract administration, and administrative work. Represent the District in matters pertaining to geotechnical and dam safety engineering with Federal agencies, Boards of Consultants, and District divisions. Provide expertise in levee and dam design and instrumentation monitoring. Assure continuing integrity and operational adequacy of major civil works structures. Responsible for long range planning for geotechnical services in coordination with other branch sections. Provide technical specifications, studies, reports, designs, that maintain cost controls and account for property inventory.
