The position will be based at Valley Forge; however he or she may be required to report to either park on a day-by-day basis. Both parks preserve an extensive collection of historic and modern structures, roads and trails, utilities, landscapes, and other features which are the subjects of repairs, rehabilitation, and capital improvements. There are occasional new construction projects. The purpose of this position is to act as a project manager responsible for professional planning, financial management, and execution of cyclic programs and capital projects as well as related coordination and communications among park staff, stakeholders, and partners of the two parks.
There is no substitution of education for experience at the grade level(s) of this announcement.

Physical Demands: The work requires some physical exertion, such as: long periods of standing, walking over rough terrain, climbing, lifting items weighing less than 50 pounds, and regular visits to construction sites.
Working Conditions: The work environment involves high risk of exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress requiring a range of safety and other precautions where conditions cannot be controlled (e.g. working at great heights under extreme outdoor weather conditions).
