As a Supervisor:
Performs duties under the general direction of the CYS Coordinator who outlines program objectives and is available for discussion of complicated and unprecedented matters. Incumbent's work is evaluated in terms of compliance with baseline standards as measured against established metrics, as well as program accomplishments and effectiveness. Majority of assignments are performed independently.
Major Duties include:
Serves as a Sports and Fitness (S&F) Director with responsibility for the operation, integration, coordination, and oversight of installation CYS Sports and Fitness Program: Team Sports - Soccer, Basketball and Baseball/T-ball plus a minimum of two locally selected activities, Individual Sports - minimum of three locally selected activities; Fitness and Health - Nutrition Counseling/Education and Health Promotion Classes/Events plus a minimum of one locally selected activity.
Applies professional knowledge to plan, implement, and supervise a comprehensive program that promotes positive growth and development of children and youth. Provides program oversight and accountability for the performance of staff and the safety and well being of children and youth IAW DoD, Army and local policies and standards.
Recruits and hires qualified personnel including Program Assistants, Program Associates, Sports and Fitness Assistants and Assistant Directors utilizing Army CYS Standard Position Descriptions.
Serves as Subject Matter Expert on installation Child and Youth Services sports and fitness issues. Prepares reports, surveys, and briefings for command and installation on matters pertaining to CYS.
Highly Preferred applicants will possess a 4 year degree in Physical Education or have 1 year or more experience working in a Child and Youth Program and may be referred to the hiring manager over other applicants.

5. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
6. Must have or be able to obtain a Certified Sports Administration Credential.
