Major Duties: Intelligence Specialist
· The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as the Squadron Superintendent with responsibility as the senior enlisted advisor to the Commander on matters related to the morale, welfare, professional development, and effective utilization of intelligence, communications and maintenance professionals across the Squadron. Manages assignments, deployments, training, readiness, and manpower issues for the ISR Squadron enlisted members. Advises Commander on all enlisted matters including training, administrative and personnel planning, manning, and facilities programs of the ISR Squadron (ISR or ISS), 10 AF/AFRC.
· Key advisor to Squadron Commander on training, administrative, and personnel functions of the ISR/ISS Squadron(s). Serves as the senior enlisted advisor to the Commander on matters related to the morale, welfare, professional development and effective utilization of intelligence, communications, and maintenance professionals across the Squadron.
· Plans, organizes, and oversees the training, administrative and, personnel activities of the ISR Squadron and directs the day-to-day operations of the Command Section. Serves as the focal point for the management and execution of enlisted training, administrative, and personnel functions on the implementation of policies by the Squadron Commander. Comprehends the Commands ISR strategic vision and clearly communicates the Commanders policy and programs for the administration, operation, manning, training, readiness, maintenance, and supply of the squadron and subordinate units.
· Represents HQ AFRC, NAF, Wing, ISR Group, and ISR Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with Commanders, Managers, Supervisors, other senior officials, HQ AFRC, Air Staff, and officials from the gaining major commands and DoD and national level agencies.
· Ensures ISR training and readiness for the Squadron. Oversees the development of operational plans, standard operating procedures, and implementing instructions, which pertain to general military training and readiness of assigned unit personnel, ISR, and command center communications training.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.
DoD Components with DCIPS positions apply Veterans' Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 USC, in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
