PATHWAYS PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
This is a Student Internship opportunity under the Pathways Internship Program. The Internship Program provides managers a ready source of student employees and potential permanent employees upon completion of the program requirements. It also provides the student with work experience directly related to their curriculum study or career goals while offering eligibility for non-competitive conversion to permanent employment upon completion; However, there is no guarantee for conversion.
This is a DAU Student Internship opportunity under the Pathways Internship Program. The agency will close this announcement once 100 applicants have applied or the closing date occurs.
The end date for this appointment will be specified in the Participant Agreement and is generally the intern's projected graduation date.

Background or Security Investigation: This is a Public Trust sensitive position which requires a background investigation.
You MUST be currently enrolled in school at least half time. Transcripts must show proof of enrollment for Fall 2017.
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:
For the lower half of the pay band (GS-5 equivalent): You may substitute 4-year course bachelor level education which is directly related to the work of the position. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
For the upper half of the pay band (GS-7 equivalent): You may substitute 1 full year course of graduate level education which is directly related to the work of the position. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.

Interns may be converted to a permanent or term (time-limited) position within 120 days of successful completion of the program. To be eligible for conversion, interns must: complete at least 640 hours of work experience acquired through the Internship Program; complete their degree or certificate requirements; meet the qualification standards for the position to which the Intern will be converted, which includes completion of 24 semester hours in accounting, 6 of which may be in business law; meet agency-specific requirements as specified in the Pathways Participant Agreement; and perform their job successfully. Time spent under previous Internship Program appointments may count towards required work experience hours.
