The incumbent must be a licensed pharmacist who is responsible to manage and coordinate comprehensive pharmaceutical care activities in an inpatient/IV setting for medical and surgical programs located within the Miami VA Health Care System. The incumbent operates on a delegation of authority with independence of action to coordinate all aspects of inpatient care pharmacy services to the medical center. This position oversees activities where the incumbent has full and final technical/administrative authority over the work, which requires coordination and integration of work assignments with other service lines. These pharmacy activities include the management of the Sterile Products Section including the safe aseptic preparation, labeling and distribution of intravenous admixtures, hyperalimentation fluids, chemotherapeutic agents and investigational drugs, the distribution of unit dose drugs to the intensive care units, the provision of pharmaceutical services for adult male and female patients including patients over 65 years, organizing, directing and evaluating the performance of pharmacists, technicians, students and residents. Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Will be assigned based on the needs of the Medical Center, which may include nights and weekends
