This position is located in the Albuquerque Area Office. The incumbent performs hydrologic data collection; field land surveys; data manipulation and associated drawings and reports using GIS, spreadsheets and databases; and performs contract administration as COTR or GOTR. This work is performed in support of large water resource projects. Other duties include:
- Coordinates, plans performs, and reviews fieldwork to collect data for use in design of water resources engineering projects.
- Develops and prepares layouts and specifications for a variety of water resources designs.
- Prepares work plans and cost estimates for work activities.
- Performs field surveys to gather engineering data or to verify design data, and performs hydrologic data collection; develops reports following data collection activities.
- Participates in the design of engineering projects.
- Develops and reviews design reports and other engineering drawings in a readily interpretative format, and performs data analysis and calculations.
- Determines material quantities and properties for project components.
- Acquires, processes and integrates geospatial and related data, with their appurtenant metadata, into the GIS relational database and file servers.
- Produces maps and interprets spatial data using GIS software.
- Develops specifications and/or delivery orders for construction and service contracts, cooperative agreements and memoranda of understanding where other government agencies may be involved, for data collection, monitoring processes, or analysis.
- Develops statements of work and specifications for delivery orders and new contracts.
