Physical Demands: Work alternates between sedentary and moderately active. Office assignments require total concentration on detail material for long periods. The variety of work requires the ability to adjust mental processes with each new assignment. Field work includes exposure to all elements of weather with some extended periods of hiking and walking over rough terrain.
Working environment: Work is split between the office and field. Field visits involve project scoping with interdisciplinary team members to assess ecological and physical components of proposed projects. This knowledge will then be integrated into environmental analysis documents in a climate controlled office setting. Incumbent will adhere to all safety rules and regulations as prescribed in manuals/supplements or by the designated Safety Officer.

The incumbent prepares and plans environmental analysis documents in support of field project implementation. Writes and/or edits material for publication in planning and environmental documents. Reviews and edits technical reports, planning documents, environmental impact statements, and environmental assessments for logical presentation, consistency, accuracy, grammatical correctness, spelling, punctuation, presentation and adherence to accepted standards. Works as a team member on interdisciplinary teams; develops guidance and assistance to promote clarity and consistency in presenting technical and non-technical information. Coordinates with team members and printing specialists to ensure documents meet printing requirements and other standards.
This position has no individual occupational requirements and is covered under the Administrative & Management group coverage qualification standard.
