About the Position:
Assists with planning, organization and scheduling harbor maintenance and floating plant operations. Work involves scheduling, equipment replacement and repair, design, manpower requirements, survey, inspections, and various other activities related to marine repair. Implements and maintains various safety and security programs such as ERGO, sign program, pesticide and weed control.

Assists with the operations and maintenance of harbors and dam operations as follows: In conjunction with field office activities, plans and implements a wide and complex range of activities related to the operation of a field office.
Reviews work to be performed and work accomplished. Makes periodic surveys of Government structures to determine present conditions and recommends repairs and reconstruction.
Maintains automated gauging instruments for hydraulic data collection and regulation water levels.
Instructs and trains subordinates in safe working methods and practices; for studying the work operation of jobs and correcting or reporting for correction any condition that appears to be a potential accident hazard or that impairs the safety of the worker or other individuals. Utilizes EM Safety and Health Requirements Manual and other applicable safety regulations.
Acts a liaison with federal, State, County, Municipal, riparians, and private agencies. Attends public hearings on matters pertaining to river and harbor operation.
Prepares/oversees the preparation of recurring and special reports, correspondence, and payrolls.
Uses basic skills to assist with minor repairs to dams, break walls, signs, shops and yards.
