Performs qualitative analysis to ensure the accuracy, internal consistency of data, inclusion and completeness of pertinent reports and data, and arrangement of record contents is in accordance with prescribed regulations. Ensures inclusion and completeness of dictated & handwritten medical reports & other medical documentation such as physician's orders, progress notes, operative reports, and nursing documentation. Analyzes medical data to determine if terminology used is consistent with acceptable nomenclature and all complications are listed appropriately. Serves as Subject Matter Expert for department chiefs, health care providers, and coding staff to obtain information or clarification on accurate and ethical documentation standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
