The Assistant Nurse Manager's responsibilities include, yet are not limited to, the following:
1. Planning, coordinating, and implementing daily nursing activities for designated areas to include patient care, utilization of personnel, scheduling, orientation, and staff development.
2. Using effective channels of communication, interpreting and implementing policies and procedures, and representing Nursing Service at multidisciplinary meetings in the absence of the nurse manager.
3. Assisting with maintaining effective evaluation programs on quality nursing care and personnel performance.
4. Fostering participation in process improvement programs and clinical research.

1. BSN preferred.
2. Minimum of 3(three) years of successful nursing practice, which must include recent psychiatric experience. Nursing leadership experience preferred. Recent substance abuse experience preferred.
3. Basic computer skills required (experience with mouse and keyboard); advanced skills preferred (Microsoft word, excel, etc).
4. Strong knowledge base and commitment to the principles of quality improvement.
5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other members of the multidisciplinary health care team to accomplish the medical center's mission, vision, and goals.
6. Demonstrated effective utilization of the nursing process.
7. Evidence of strong positive interpersonal/customer service relations, verbal/written communication and leadership skills.
8. Evidence of sound decision-making and critical thinking skills
