The Department of Laboratory Medicine is currently seeking (2) Lead Medical Technologists. The ideal candidates will function as a Lead Medical Technologist (Team Leader) who can demonstrate strong communication skills, personnel management, excellent organizational skills, and a quality-driven work ethic and has extensive knowledge of coagulation/special coagulation, MT(ASCP) or Histology/IHC, HTL(ASCP).

The duties of a Lead Medical Technologist (Hematology) include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Assist with the daily operations of a full service hematology clinical laboratory;
· Managing and maintaining inventory, writing SOPs and dealing with vendors;
· Serve as coach and facilitator in coordinating team initiatives (effective leader and team-builder), and appropriate problem solving methods and techniques;
· Facilitate learning experiences and training for team members;
· Perform laboratory testing (pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases) in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements;
· Participate in the development, evaluation and implementation of current and new test methodologies and quality control procedures (CAP regulations).
· Perform specialized testing in Hematology and Coagulation (cell counts, differentials on body fluids, abnormal morphology of CBCs);
