Psychiatrists function as a member of a multidisciplinary team. He/she will focus on the assessment/evaluation and medication management of veterans who suffer from a variety of mental health conditions, including, but not limited to, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), substance abuse, depression, anxiety and other related conditions. The incumbent will work with veterans from all theaters of service, including, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Providing clinical assessment/evaluation of veterans with difficult and complex mental health issues and then selecting from a variety of resources and clinical approaches including non-direct and cognitive behavior therapy, behavior modification, insight oriented methods, family therapy, relaxation training, and medication management, etc. Serves as a consultant and advisor to other professional staff and the community on the assessment, education, and treatment of veterans with complex clinical problems, such as, PTSD and war zone related stress reaction.
***Basic computer literacy and average typing speed is necessary as we use a paperless patient record.
