This vacancy is for a Supervisory Economist position in the Industry Sector Division (ISD), of the Bureau of Economic Analysis, a bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The incumbent will serve as a Supervisory Economist, and will provide leadership and managerial oversight for the production of BEA's Industry Economic Accounts (IEAs), which includes U.S. annual and benchmark input-output (I-O) accounts, GDP by Industry statistics, Integrated Industry-level Production accounts and other supplemental statistics.

Specialized Experience: For the Band IV, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the Band III or GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include: managing the development and maintenance of estimation procedures; developing improved methods; interpreting and analyzing economic statistics; carry out research studies; and managing staff in the development and maintenance of estimation procedures.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
