The selectee for this position will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER in the Environmental Division of the Public Works Department (PWD) of NAVFAC ROICC SOUDA BAY.
This is an interdisciplinary position which may be filled by any of the following series: Biologist (0401), Environmental Engineer (0819), Physical Scientist (1301), or Hydrologist (1315).

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.

40-hour Hazardous Waste Operator training or an 8-hour refresher course or equivalent is required within 1 year of entry on duty.

Physical Demands - Work is primarily sedentary, except during visits to field locations that involve frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, working in cramped positions, and climbing, or lifting 25-40 pounds of weight.
Work Environment - Majority of work is performed in an office setting. Field visits to hazardous environments including industrial facilities, oil & hazardous material spill sites and treatment facilities and industrial processes may occur, with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, toxic substances, infectious or contaminated materials. Wearing and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
