-Operate and maintain a 2.5 million gallon per day industrial mine water treatment plant with minimal supervision. Perform daily laboratory analysis for water quality and process control optimization. Manage metal hydroxide sludge dewatering. Responsible for water quality monitoring and reporting for National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) discharge permit.
-Work safely and independently, and with other journeymen, to operate and maintain remote groundwater pumping stations, electronic control systems, valves, chemical metering pumps, flow control, and pH and turbidity analyzers.
-Independently interpret and apply mechanical and electrical schematics and manufacturer's instructions.
-Utilize personal protective equipment while applying safe work practices, hazardous energy control procedures, and good industrial chemical hygiene.
-May require physical labor both indoors and outside, all seasons and weather extremes, at an elevation of 10,000 feet above sea level. Requires considerable walking, standing on concrete floors, bending, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, reaching, and lifting 50 lbs.
