The CYS Assistant Director Position is located at one of our Child Development Centers providing full day childcare for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age and are open Monday through Friday from 0545 to 1800.
The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is the Fort Riley commuting area (50 miles). (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) Preference eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

A CYS Assistant Director will have responsibility for assisting the Director in the operation of the Child Development Center Program, IAW all applicable regulations and standards.
-Will at times serve in the absence of the Director and is expected to apply professional knowledge to plan, implement, and supervise a comprehensive program that promotes positive growth and development of children and youth.
-Incumbent provides oversight and accountability for the performance and safety of assigned staff and children; assists in maintaining DOD/Army certifications as well as ensure program retains national accreditations.
-Trains and evaluates employees through observations, one on one, and formal training sessions.
-Assists Director in developing program budget and monitors food service program for compliance and proper meal procedures.
