MAJOR DUTIES: As an Aircraft Maintenance Unit Supervisor, WS-8801-12, you will manage, supervise, and technically direct personnel performing aircraft inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repair, modification and overhaul of various assigned aircraft and associated systems, including organizational intermediate, and depot level maintenance and Type-2 modifications. You will also:
- Plan on a weekly or monthly basis the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials in an organizational segment or group.
- Assign work to individuals and provide technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes.
- Participate with employees in the development of performance plans, advise employees of expectations, provide feedback, and appraise performance.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance as a condition of employment.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: The work is primarily sedentary. The employee may sit comfortably to do the work. There may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, or small parts. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The employee typically works indoors in an environment involving everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places. Observance of normal safety practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations is required.
