This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. Major Duties:
- The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior Electronics Engineer, cyber/EW analyst providing professional and scientific expertise in performance of intelligence analysis utilizing engineering mathematics, statistical and intelligence analysis, modeling and simulation.
- Performs scientific and technical intelligence on airborne cyber/electronic warfare (EW) systems.
- Analyzes all sources of intelligence using intelligence means, engineering methods and computer models/simulations to best estimate the current characteristics, capabilities and limitations of airborne cyber/EW systems and the ability to impact US military operations as well as predict future design improvements/upgrades.
- Produces initiative current and predictive all-source intelligence assessments tailored for the needs of operational warfighters.
- Acts as Subject Matter Expert on airborne cyber/EW topics, responds to High Level taskings, and represents NASIC, the Intelligence Community (IC), and the USAF at international meetings. Work independently, and with other analysts to accurately and effectively generate and present information to AF, the services, DoD, joint agencies, and foreign intelligence organizations representatives.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS. This position is in the Excepted Service.
DoD Components with DCIPS positions apply Veterans' Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 USC, in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. This position is covered by the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) and, as such, will subject the incumbent to those examinations and/or tests that are necessary to obtain and retain a security clearance and any special accesses required by the position in accordance with AFI 36-110. This position is testing designated position and as such requires periodic urine analysis testing. Failure to comply with any special requirements, when required, will subject the incumbent of this position to reassignment or disciplinary adverse actions, including demotion and removal.
2. The employee must be able to acquire and retain a Top Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI).
3. The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
4. The employee may be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty.
5. Air travel is required for TDY to sites in the US as well as overseas. Requires flexibility in spending extended time on-the-job on an unexpected basis after normal duty hours, weekends, holidays. Required to be available for recall consistent with the nature of emergency situations should they arise

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Degree: Professional Engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

A combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: Professional registration, written test, specified academic courses or related curriculum.

Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
