Type of Appointment: This is a full-time, Excepted Indefinite, dual-status position which requires Georgia Air National Guard Membership. Position is Indefinite but may convert to permanent without further competition. If a tenured applicant is selected, tenure will not change.
Job Summary: This position is located in the Communications and Information Systems Division of an ANG Air Operations Group. The purpose of the position is to assist higher-graded computer specialists in the administration of network, telecommunications, and (as needed) battle management computer training systems.
Permanent Change of Station (PCS): PCS is not authorized.
Relocation Incentive: Relocation incentive is not authorized.
Background Check: Selectee may, at the option of the agency, be required to submit to criminal, credit history, and general background checks which will be evaluated by the agency prior to a final offer of employment and access into the Georgia National Guard Federal Technician or Active Guard/Reserve program.
National Guard Membership: This position requires military membership. It is designated for Georgia Air National Guard Enlisted incumbent only. In accordance with ANG regulations, incumbent performs duties necessary to accomplish IT SPECIALIST (SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION) functions in support of programs essential to state Air National Guard daily operations, training and readiness missions.
As a member of a unit of the Georgia Air National Guard, you will be required to train with your unit, normally one weekend a month and 15 days of annual training each year. Georgia Air National Guard units and members are subject to immediate call to federal or state active duty to meet national or state emergencies.

Other Requirements: Selected applicant must either possess a current DoD 8570 certification for the position (Security +, DoD IA certification) or must obtained the required certification within 6 months of selection for the position. If selected applicant is unable to obtain/maintain the required certification, then he/she may be reassigned or dismissed.
For positions requring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret), selectee must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
National Guard Compatibility: Once an applicant is selected and prior to being placed in the technician position, the selectee must be assigned to any unit in the Georgia Air National Guard as an Enlisted member in AFSC: 3D0X2.

Wear of the Air Force uniform as prescribed by AFR/NGB/GA NGR is required for incumbent of this position. Acceptance of this position constitutes concurrence with this requirement as a condition of employment.
General Experience: Applicant must have experience which provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
Specialized Experience GS-07: Applicant must have at least 12 months specialized experience in translating detailed logical steps developed by others into language codes that computers accept where this required understanding of procedures and limitations appropriate to use of a programming language. Experience interviewing subject-matter personnel to get facts regarding work processes, and synthesizing the resulting data into charts showing information flow.
Specialized Experience GS-09: Applicant must have at least 24 months specialized experience in analysis of the interrelationship of pertinent components of the system. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment. Experience scheduling the sequence of programs to be processed by computers where alternatives had to be weighed with a view to production efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated by the Selecting Official based on the following KSAs considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
