At the full performance level of the target conversion position (GS-11), you will: (Utilize a highly developed knowledge of professional engineering practices, theories, and methodology of hydrology and hydraulics and meteorology relating to the control, supply, and conservation of water resources.
Utilize the District's Water Control Data System (WCDS), updates, data feeds, and continuity of operation plan.
Compile, analyze and test hydrological and meteorological data for preparation of the more difficult input into reports, regulation manuals, and engineering studies related to water management and water resource development.
Make field inspections and investigations and recommends plans for collecting technical data needed to determine the elements of the water budget such as evapotranspiration and seepage and the effects of local conditions on water control problems.
After program completion, Department of the Army Pathways Recent Graduates MAY be converted to a permanent or term appointment without further competition.
This position is being filled at the GS-07 or GS-09 level with potential conversion to a position with a full performance level at GS-11.

Basic Education Requirement:

Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Specialized Experience:
To qualify at the GS-07 grade level: (Example: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized/general experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GS-05). Specialized experience is defined as: developing quantity estimates, testing material for compliance with specifications, gathering and reviewing a variety of narrative and/or statistical data to prepare reports, and conducting analysis of data to support conclusions or recommendations for action.
To qualify at the GS-09 grade level: (Example: You may qualify based on specialized experience, education OR a combination of education and experience. To qualify based on experience, you must possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service. By demonstrating practical engineering experience for complex projects, be able to independently carry out directives and evaluations, develop information papers, and exercise judgment when interpreting policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate for this position is a Civil Engineer graduate with Hydraulics and Hydrology Knowledge and/or experience or a General Engineer with knowledge and/or experience with Water Resources, Hydraulics and Hydrology.
