The GVMP operates veterinary treatment facilities (VTFs) on most military installations for the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force. This position is located at Patrick Air Force Base Veterinary Treatment Facility.

As an Operations Assistant, serve as the lead point of contact for the day-to-day front office operations of a veterinary clinic. Performs a variety of administrative and clerical functions including, but not limited to, typing and office automation. Coordinates with clinic management to establish clinic schedule and appointment availability. Loads schedules into Remote Online Veterinary Records (ROVR) system. Serves as clinic ordering official and Government Purchase Cardholder.

Provides direction and oversight to lower level clerks. Distributes and balances workload among lower level clerks in accordance with established workflow. Monitors the status and progress of work, and make day- to- day adjustments in accordance with established priorities, obtaining assistance from the supervisor on problems that may arise. Instruct employees in specific tasks and job techniques and make available written instructions, reference materials and supplies. Conduct on the job training to lower level clerks and new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices. Maintain an extensive knowledge of operations, procedures, policies, and judgment in seeking guidance and direction from immediate supervisor. Escalate complex issues to immediate supervisor.
