About the Position:
This position directly supports a Regional Network Enterprise Center (RNEC) Cybersecurity Division which mandates, roles, responsibilities, and procedures for the implementation of Army Cybersecurity Programs consistent with today's technological advancements for achieving acceptable levels of security in engineering implementation, operation, and maintenance for Information Systems (IS) connecting to or crossing any U.S. Army managed network or system.
This position is obligated. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights based on active military service, compensable injury or disability when fully recovered, return rights based on having served an overseas tour(s), and may also cover employees who have been on extended leave without pay under certain circumstances. During the obligation period, the position may be filled on a temporary or permanent basis. The selected employee is required to sign an agreement acknowledging that (s)he is aware of the obligation and accepts the fact that (s)he may be displaced under reduction in force procedures at a later time.

Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: performing analysis of security issues, providing customer support to resolve security vulnerabilities and experience using automated information security systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-09.

A. Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR completed 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification.)
B. Have some specialized experience as described above, but less than one year; and have graduate level education in excess of a Master's Degree but less than the level of graduate-level education as described in A; and have computed the percentage of the requirements that you meet, and the total is at least 100. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 36. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification.)
