Serves as a journey level Equipment Operator Relief at the Bureau of Reclamation's Fish Facility in Byron, CA. The Fish Facility operates 24 hrs per day, 7 days per week and requires work to be performed during rotating shifts, on weekends, holidays, and on an emergency basis.
Operates a variety of equipment, including tracked and wheeled vehicles, work boat, gantry and mobile cranes, hoists, pumps, valves, pumps, fish diversion equipment, power tools and common hand tools. Loads and transports fish to designated release sites. Performs basic maintenance on equipment. Uses math and basic algebra to perform and record routine calculations for fish data, vehicle use, and other data. Reads meters and gauges; interprets and applies verbal and written instructions, drawings, and diagrams; and follows established safety practices. Covers shifts as needed.

Relocation: Travel, transportation, and relocation expenses are not authorized for payment by the Bureau of Reclamation. Any costs incurred in reporting for duty are the responsibility of the selectee.

Conditions of Employment:
This position requires completion of a one-year probationary period.
Successful adjudication of personnel security investigation required.
Travel is required approximately 10% of the time.
Operation of a government vehicle is required; therefore, you must possess and maintain a valid State’s driver’s license. Driving record will be verified prior to final selection.
A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required, a copy of your CDL must be submitted with the application package.
Satisfactory completion of a medical examination is required before assignment to the position.
Work is indoors and outside, subject to prevailing weather and terrain. Employee works in the vicinity of energized and high voltage sources and moving equipment.
Frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of items weighing up to 50 pounds is required.
This is a Drug Testing Designated position. Position is subject to random drug testing as a condition of employment.
