The candidate must ensure compliance with all quality, policy, and regulatory requirements. The physician will participate in inpatient and outpatient quality care, teaching, and research related to pulmonary/critical care diseases. He/she will apply national and VA guidelines to patient screening, surveillance and management of such diseases. The incumbent must be proficient in routine and advanced bronchoscopic and pleural procedures, including EBUS, navigational bronchoscopy, endobronchial therapeutic interventions and bedside ultrasound. The physician will participate in the education and supervision of trainees. Strong research experience is preferred. Successful candidate would qualify for a faculty appointment at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
The Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Health Care System, in conjunction with the University Of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, is seeking a full-time staff physician to be a pulmonary/critical care specialist on Medical Service. The clinical practice will be divided between the OKC Health Care System and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. The Oklahoma City Health Care System is a tertiary care facility serving Oklahoma and part of northern Texas and an integral part of the educational and research mission of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Incumbent will have a concurrent faculty appointment with the VA at 5/8ths and 3/8ths at the University of Oklahoma.
Work Schedule: Variable
Physical Requirements: Standing for extended periods, use of fingers and both hands, ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously, near vision correctable at 13" to 16" Jaeger 1 to 4; ability to distinguish basic colors, emotional and mental stability. Hearing aid is permitted. Incumbents may experience exposure to blood and body fluids.
