- Loads and unloads heavy boxes, bulky supplies and materials, bulky supplies and materials to and from trucks, hand trucks, dollies, etc.
- Opens crates and boxes using crowbars and cuts bands using shears, stacks boxes and cartons.
- Moves and arranges furniture.
- Delivers material from warehouses to various buildings throughout the College grounds.
- Performs a multitude of ground maintenance (e.g., maintaining and preparing lawn area, seeds, fertilizes and mows grass, prunes and plants trees, shrubs, plants and applies mulch around trees, shrubs and flower beds, shovels snow and slush from sidewalks.

The work requires primarily physical effort and involves use of common hand tools and power equipment. The incumbent may be required to work weekends.
The incumbent exerts physical effort in lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying objects weighting about: 60 pounds occasionally; 25 pounds frequently; and 10 pounds continuously. Frequently moves objects up and down the stairs, e.g. boxes of materials, furniture, tools, house and other items. Incumbent is required to walk, bend, stand in place, crouch and stoop for prolonged periods of time and occasionally crawls under building spaces
and climb ladders.
Works in areas which normally have adequate heat, light and ventilation. Occasionally works in bad weather involving temperature extremes. Is exposed to occasional skin irritation from strong cleaning solutions, is required to stand for long periods on concert floors.
Selectee will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
