The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System (VAHCS) is located on 337 acres situated on the Gulf of Mexico in Bay Pines, FL. The Bay Pines VAHCS is part of the VISN 8 Sunshine Healthcare Network and services the healthcare needs of America's Veterans in West Central and Southwestern coastal Florida. BPVAHCS provides care to a veteran population of more than one million in Florida and treats approximately 98,000 unique veterans annually. The medical center serves as a referral center for this area with 397 operating beds with care provided in almost all medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties as well as inpatient residential and long term care. The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is actively recruiting for experienced Registered Nurse's (RN) to fill the Acute Care Medical/Surgical Unit (Med/Surg) - 5A unit vacancies at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center. The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse (RN) with current hands on direct experience; collaborating with the other health members to develop, implement and coordinate patient care delivery to achieve maximum quality, patient centered care, positive patient outcomes, and appropriate utilization of resources to a culturally diverse Veteran patient population. Demonstrates knowledge to assess, perform and appropriately care for patients in a fast paced clinical environment, demonstrates exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, provides patient health education to patients and families with regard to current treatment, health issues, and patient/family concerns. The Medical/Surgical Unit RN will perform other duties under the direction of the nurse manager or designee as assigned.
Work Schedule: Work schedules will vary based upon the current vacancy and the needs of the Service.
