Red River Army Depot is recruiting for a permanent Sheet Metal Mechanic, WG-3806-11 to serve in Directorate for Production, Fabrication/Surface Support Division. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your background must demonstrate experience or ability to perform the common Sheet Metal Mechanic tasks such as using a variety of metal including but not limited to aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, armor plate, brass, cooper, and Plexiglas to perform layout and fabrication tasks; and devising templates and patterns to shape, construct, and assemble objects in the layout and fabrication of sheet metal objects and/or systems.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Sheet Metal Mechanics at the grade 11 level work requires standing, climbing, bending, and on occasion, cramped, and awkward positions. Sheet Metal Mechanics frequently lift objects weighing 10 to 40 pounds, and on occasion objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Sheet Metal Mechanics at the grade 11 level usually work in well-lighted but noisy shops and occasionally outside subject to heat, cold, and inclement weather. Sheet Metal Mechanics are exposed to dangers of cuts, falls, burns, dust from grinding, noise, fumes, injuries from hand and power tools, and infrared and ultraviolet rays. Sheet Metal Mechanics must wear all applicable personal protective equipment as required by policy or MSDS for products.
