Provides technical analysis and job plans for troubleshooting, maintenance, and improvement of power generation SCADA and industrial control systems.
Develops conceptual designs for new constructions of SCADA systems and power plant modernization systems.
Provides engineering analysis and recommendations for maintenance and repair of power plant systems including digital and rotating excitation systems, multi-function protective relay systems, digital governor systems, etc.
Completes field inspections and prepares technical reports including recommendations which are written for clear understanding by maintenance personnel.
Provides technical and administrative support in the areas concerning FISMA and NERC/CIP standards including system design, planning, operations and maintenance for various industrial control systems.

KSA 1 – Professional knowledge of electrical engineering in order to apply this knowledge to the design, operation, maintenance, and layout of electrical systems and industrial equipment. Familiarity with at least one related engineering field (e.g. mechanical or structural).
KSA 2 – Ability to develop and implement PLC programs utilizing the IEC 61131 programming languages for the control of power plant systems such as generator control systems, digital governors, water treatment systems, wastewater treatment systems, sump pump systems, security gate systems, traffic light systems, and other PLC control plant systems.
KSA 3 – Knowledge of federal procurement and compliance regulations standards applicable to power-generation facilities and apply this knowledge to the purchase, design, operation, maintenance and layout of control systems.
KSA 4 – Professional knowledge of computer engineering, including computer network hardware and software, in order to apply this knowledge to the design, operation, and maintenance of system hardware, software and integration of industrial control systems.
KSA 5 – Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally with both technical staff and users, prepare and present reports and recommendations.
