GS-11 Level - Specialized experience is defined as: Experience interpreting regulations to answer inquiries; utilizing automated systems to maintain databases; utilizing various applications to verify personnel data.

Combining Experience and Education: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education from an accredited college or university and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements and may be computed by first determining education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for that grade level. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify for positions at grade GS-11. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education above 1 year by 10. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.)
Only degrees from accredited colleges or universities recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience.
