This full-time, permanent position is located at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas, in the Environmental Management Service Line (EMSL). The incumbent is responsible for supporting and enhancing both nursing and environmental services by utilizing staff as health aides to perform non-clinical functions which are often performed by Nursing and selected services provided by housekeeping. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Work Schedule: Days shift, tour to be determined (may include Weekends) Tours: 7a-3:30pm; 3:30pm-12mid;10:30pm-7am. No Alternate work schedule may be considered.

Physical Requirements: Incumbent will have frequent contact with any personnel normally found in a hospital including patients and visitors. The position entails prolonged standing, bending, stooping, stretching, constant walking, exposed to repetitive tasks that require walking or pushing during the tour of duty and lifting. Incumbent will be exposed to orders and contagious diseases founds in a hospital environment. The nature of the work demands waling by pushing a wheelchair or stretcher. Incumbent is requires a high volume of stamina.

EDUCATION REQUIRED Successful completion of one year of study that includes study in medical, health, or related fields.
