About the Position:
This is a military technician position with the US Army Reserves. Becoming a Military Technician allows you to experience the best of two worlds by taking advantage of the opportunity to become a Citizen Soldier in the US Army Reserve Military Technician program. This enables you to receive full civil service benefits and military reserve benefits. Military Technicians are a vital link between the US Army Reserves and civil service and are one of the most important keys to combat readiness.

Duties of the position include:
· Receive, store, identify and issue tools, parts and equipment.
· Convert shop terms to standard nomenclature.
· Perform necessary documentation, tagging and binning.
· Assess return of non-expendable items.
· Maintain prescribed minimum stock levels.
· Make room for new stock or to obtain more effective utilization of space.
· Post changes to maintenance and supply publications.

In order to qualify, you must meet the screen-out element described below.
Screen Out Element: Ability to do the work of a Tools and Parts Attendant without more than normal supervision. Applicants must meet the screen-out element to be considered further. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: experience working within a shop environment and assisting with the accomplishment of tasks, such as receiving, storing, and issuing tools, parts, and/or other equipment.
Physical effort: Work is performed on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Attendant frequently lifts and carries tools, parts, supplies and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. Handtrucks, dollies and forklifts (4,000-15,000 lbs.) are available for use in handling heavier items.
Working Conditions: Works in storage area which is well lighted, fairly clean, and well heated but occasionally drafty and noisy. There is some possibility of minor cuts and bruises.
