As a SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-2003-5/7/9, you will study and analyze specific issues of the assigned weapon system(s). Study and recommend solutions for segments of broad studies of the assigned weapon system(s) involving several issues or problems. Analyze, develop, evaluate or promote improvements in the policies, plans, methods, procedures, or techniques of a supply program. Oversee the maintenance of inventory control records for parts needed in supply support and maintenance programs. Evaluate fluctuations in rate of usage, cost, and availability for established suppliers, alternative accelerated or decelerated acquisition, notifications to seek additional vendors, or other actions, designed to support maintenance operations without interruption in the flow of materials. Provide supply support for the assigned fleet of aircraft. Advise on ways to improve the efficiency and economy of supply operations. Ensure supply actions taken within the weapon system cell meet regulatory compliance, customer needs and are in line with overall command mission goals. Participate in Air Force and MAJCOM conferences associated with the overall support of assigned weapon systems(s) to assist in the development and/or evaluation of new or revised USAF policy and procedures. Responsible for overall management of the Global Logistics Supply Center (GLSC) weapons systems MICAP program. Perform comprehensive analysis to determine the effectiveness of logistics support for GLSC weapon systems. Collects weapon systems statistics from multiple databases. Use statistical data to determine performance, effectiveness and trends relating to GLSC weapon Systems support. Analyze and evaluate problem or potential problem areas, unexpected fluctuations or unsatisfactory trends in statistics and proposes solutions to management to reverse the problem/trends.
