Mirandize suspects, preserve evidence and testify in court as it pertains to enforcing laws and regulations. Conduct preliminary and final short-term investigations of a broad range of alleged and actual crimes. Investigate crimes and suspected criminal activities, interview witnesses, secure crime scenes, compile and preserve evidence. Respond to calls for emergency assistance to include murder, traffic accidents, domestic disputes, suicides, burglary, robbery, sex offenses, unruly or truant child, missing persons, suspicious persons, gang fights, or neighborhood disputes, catastrophic events, enemy attacks and natural disasters. Act as the on-scene commander for significant and catastrophic events when required. Perform mobile patrol duties. Enforce weapons systems security standards, traffic rules and regulations, including those related to speed, reckless and drunken driving. Stop traffic violators, notify them of the offense committed, and issue tickets. Serve as an Emergency Response Dispatcher in support of integrated base defense and police services. GS-09:
The purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor and flight chief, provide planning, directing, organizing and exercising control over non-supervisory employees assigned to the Security Forces Flight. Direct and manage a Security Forces Squadron Flight for an installation with military, dependents, DoD civilian and contractor populations. Perform and enforce full range of police officer duties within a military installation. Pursue and apprehend or direct apprehension of person(s) fleeing a crime scene or attempting to resist arrest and carry a firearm. Mirandize suspects, preserve evidence, and testify in court as it pertains to enforcing laws and regulations. Direct and ensure thorough investigations of accidents, suspicious activities, crimes and arrests and promote community relations. Direct and supervise the dispatch operation activities involving security force patrols to scenes of crimes, accidents, and natural disasters. Act as on-scene incident commander for significant and catastrophic events as required. Direct or personally perform preliminary and final short-term investigations of a broad range of alleged and actual crimes occurring within the local installation jurisdiction. Conduct training classes for security forces personnel. Participate in training, exercises, and evaluations to increase proficiency and update skills and knowledge. Develop and monitor security forces training plans, obtain and develop training aids and materials. Attend, arrange and conduct meetings, briefings, and workshops. Perform other duties related to security forces training. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and capabilities of employees; develop performance standards, rate employees, interview candidates for subordinate positions, recommend hiring, promotions or reassignments. Take disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, identify developmental and training needs of employees and provide and/or arrange for needed development and training.
21. This position may fall under the Standard Premium Pay Provisions under Title 5 USC.
22. Recurring training is required to keep the incumbent knowledgeable on the updated specialized tactics, techniques and procedures necessary for preparation and response to catastrophic events, terrorist attacks and related threats to installations.

Ability to employ infantry/SWAT' small unit tactics involving fire and maneuver, with rapid advancing movement between defensive positions, while wearing protective gear for extended periods of time, e.g. Employing "Active Shooter" response tactics and techniques as a member of a small team is required.

Air Force Security Forces Job Compatibility Assessment (AF SF JCA): The Air Force General Council (AFGC), Security Forces (SF) has mandated that an assessment procedure be required in the hiring of weapon-bearing civilian positions. The incumbent will be required to complete a Job Compatibility Assessment (JCA). This is a survey, not a test, and is not scored as pass or fail only as a job compatibility standing using comparisons to other applicants for the same position.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
