A typical day in the life as an Occupational Health Nurse:
- Perform health care, counseling, education, and training;
- Conducts occupational medical surveillance and certification examinations;
- Use professional nursing skills to perform physical examination procedures;
- Provide emergency, routine and follow up care for occupational injuries and illnesses;
- Perform site visits in collaboration with industrial hygiene and safety specialists to evaluate health hazards, work practices and the appropriate safety, and protective equipment and early return to work interventions;
- Conduct in-service education programs for clinic personnel to improve clinical performance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final (e.g., confidential/secret/top secret, etc.) security clearance prior to entrance on duty AND must be able to maintain the required level of clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- A favorable Access National Agency Check and Inquiry (ANACI) background investigation is required.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the applicant fails to report to the scheduled drug test appointment. 3. Applicant must possess a combination of education and experience.
