The Eisenhower School is recruiting for a faculty member to serve in the Department of National Security and Economic Policy The incumbent is responsible for conducting education and continuing research in the fields of economics, national security strategy, military policy, force employment, mobilization and management of resources at the national level for the CJCS, the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and other Defense agencies.
National Defense University (NDU) supports the joint warfighter by providing rigorous Joint Professional Military Education to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and select others in order to develop leaders who have the ability to operate and creatively think in an unpredictable and complex world.
The Eisenhower School prepares selected military and civilians for strategic leadership and success in developing our national security strategy and in evaluating, marshaling, and managing resources in the execution of that strategy.
This is a Title 10 Excepted Service Appointment. Appointment is not to exceed 3 years with the possibility for extension.

Develops and conducts graduate-level seminar instruction and lectures in the Economics of National Security core course, which includes macroeconomics, international economics, and national security implications.
Plays a leadership role in the planning and development of curriculum material on national security/defense resourcing, which includes senior-level decision-making processes, the integration of strategy and resourcing, and the analysis of defense resourcing options.
Participates in the planning and development of the ES curriculum and serves as the principal proponent for overall objectives, content, and methods for the Economics of National Security core course, electives, and other portions of the ES curriculum, including public - private sector policy, industrial analysis and industry sector studies.
Mentors, counsels, and advises students in role of primary faculty advisor to several students and serves as a research advisor.
Assesses students' learning using a variety of assessment methodologies.
Serves as research adviser to individual students and student groups performing research on topics of academic interest relevant to national security decision making and other aspects of national security strategy.
Background or Security Investigation: This is a Non-Critical Sensitive position which requires a background investigation. The individual selected for this position is required to obtain and maintain a secret security determination to occupy a Non-Critical Sensitive position within the agency as a condition of employment.
Employee may be required to submit Confidential Disclosure Report.
