About the Position: Seattle District, Corps of Engineers, Seattle, Washington is one of the world's premier public engineering organizations, capable of providing a full spectrum of engineering services. This position is responsible to plan and conduct scientific investigations; environmental and health endangerment assessments; and remedial action design studies for control and cleanup of contaminated surface waters, groundwater, and soils for projects under the Defense Environmental Restoration Accounts program for formerly owned DOD sites, the Installation Restoration program for active military installations, the Federal Environmental Protection Agency Superfund Program, the "Work for Others" (DOD agencies) program, the "Support for Others" (non-DOD Agencies) program and the civil works program.

Experience required:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: experience with toxic and hazardous materials investigations, environment and health endangerment assessments, or remedial action design and construction to support cleaning up toxic and hazardous material sites. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11]).
