The Primary Care Physician (PCP) is a core team member in the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model. The PCP evaluates, diagnoses and provision of care to adult patients for the treatment of general medical problems and makes referrals to specialty care to meet the needs of the Veteran. The PCP addresses a large majority of personal health care needs and develops a collaboration and partnership with Veterans. The responsibilities of the PCP include but are not limited to: diagnosis and management of acute and chronic medical and psychosocial conditions, health promotion, disease prevention, overall care management, post deployment care, Women's Health, Veteran/caregiver education and potential
tele-health primary care. The PCP assists in completing quality management reviews and must be computer literate. The PCP is responsible for the successful achievement of applicable Performance Measure and Monitors for his/her areas of responsibility. The PCP is will take an active part in the peer review process and completes assigned physician's review s on time. The PCP will also assist with consult management and monitoring outpatient performance metrics for Primary Care; among other duties assigned.

Work Schedule: Full-time. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May be required to work outside the normal tour of duty such as Saturday Clinics and/or extended work hours to meet the mission of the facility.
Salary: The Salary will be determined by a Compensation Panel commensurate with Experience and Specialty and will be approved by the Medical Center Director.

Licensure and Registration: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure. The facility Director may waive this licensure requirement if the physician is to serve in a country other than the United States and the physician has licensure in that country.
Board Certification: Board certified or Board eligible in Internal Medicine or a specialty area based on the needs of the VA Health Care System preferred.
