Leads a team (minimum of three mechanics) and works beside others performing Electronic Integrated Systems maintenance duties. Performs in-process inspections within the shop and on-site of repair, diagnostics, modification, overhaul and/or rebuild of integrated electronic systems and related support equipment. Performs personnel training evaluations and spot checks work. Determines whether quality standards are met by detailed inspection of electronic, electrical, mechanical and operational inspections methods. Investigates causes of critical or major defects and assures corrective actions are taken. Assures that all test and measuring equipment used in the integrated maintenance process is properly calibrated and meets required configuration. Inspects systems to determine if necessary modifications have been accomplished. Advises Aerospace Engineering personnel on the operation and maintenance effects of proposed Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) modifications on new or existing equipment. Makes recommendations to depot engineering on TCTO changes. Performs final inspection of work upon completion. The Working Leader is "Red X" qualified. Interacts directly with aircrews for mission/sortie debrief and enhanced system troubleshooting. Responsible for final classification and acceptance of all equipment/material inspected. Inspections include visual, dimensional, electrical or electronic characteristics for conformance to appearance or tolerance requirements and a function/operation test. Assures that all required modification work orders have been applied and necessary records updated. Directs on-equipment or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft, and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. Provides task oversight for employees in the accomplishment of work by the Electronics Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-13 trades and labor craftsmen. Receives general instructions and guidance from senior supervisor, and ensures that the instructions are carried out precisely by the work team in order to accomplish goals and objectives. Ensures that needed tech data, schematics, plans, blueprints, material, and test equipment is available prior to work initiation. Identifies and balances the workload. Monitors and reports on the status and progress of work. Assures that the supervisor's instructions on work priorities, deadlines, and quality requirements are met. Coaches the team in the selection and application of appropriate problems solving methods and techniques. Trains and arranges for training of team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish work. Monitors and reports on the status of work in progress and upon completion, as required, to assure the supervisor's instructions on priorities, methods and quality have been met. Maintains the inspection program for area of responsibility and administrative reference materials, including relevant documents, policies, procedures, and written instructions from supervision is available to the team. Prepares reports and maintains records of work accomplishments. Represents the team in dealings with the supervisor for the purpose of obtaining resources and securing needed information or decisions from the supervisor on major work problems and issues. Approves emergency leave up to one day. Investigates causes of critical or major defects and assures corrective action is taken. May stop production to correct discrepancies or unsafe practices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with sufficient knowledge to complete the work of this occupational series. Experience or training which demonstrates the candidates ability to lead other technicians engaged in the duties performed by this occupational series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, must have 36 months experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series. Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment. The ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs). KSAs listed below will be used in the selection process. KSAs are important to the entire selection process and should be addressed specifically and completely within your job experience portions of your resume.
1. Ability to lead Electronic Integrated system team inspection and repair work.
2. Ability to serve as a team leader facilitating team building skills.
3. Knowledge of electronic theories and practices of integrated electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, optical, and mechanical systems of such applications as digital or analog computers, digital display devices which enables the incumbent to understand and predict the effects of subsystem malfunctions on the total function system.
4. Ability to apply electronic theories and practices to identify, isolate and repair malfunctions in one or more complex integrated systems where knowledge of the entire system is necessary to interpret error data and trace problems back through a number of units of the system to locate deficiencies.
5. Thorough knowledge of the principles of digital and analog circuits, solid state devices theory, electromechanical devices, digital techniques, synchro/servo operation and integrated circuit theory. Ability to interpret / trace schematics, logic / wiring diagrams and use a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). Ability to perform algebraic and trigonometric formulas
6. Knowledge of the technology and practices which integrate the components of the systems into a total functional system. Determine methods of repair where extremely complex relationships exist among numerous inter-connected units and control circuits; not only within the individual control systems but between them as well.
7. Knowledge and ability to perform complex mathematics including algebra and trigonometric formulas to calculate power relationships, signal phasing, etc., and to solve work related problems.
8. Ability to accurately identify, isolate, repair, align, and adjust complete multi-system complex malfunctions of the aircraft such as target acquisition and tracking, weapons control, aircraft attitude control, navigation, electronic counter measure (ECM) and other complex functions are performed by numerous systems which are extensively interconnected with data feedback loops.
9. Ability to follow drawings for multi-system complexes of numerous integrated systems; to trace the effect of a change in one subsystem to other integrated subsystems and determine which controls and devices must be changed or adjusted to compensate; and to repair, align, and adjust complete multi-systems such as the electronics package in a highly automated aircraft where target acquisition and tracking, weapons control, aircraft altitude control, navigation, electronic counter measure (ECM) and other complex functions are performed by numerous systems that are extensively interconnected with data feedback loops.
10. Ability to isolate malfunctions of complete multiple integrated system complexes consisting of closely interrelated integrated and non-integrated systems.
11. Skill in the set up and operation of test equipment such as computer controlled automated test stations, Electronic System Testers, test stands, oscilloscopes (dual trace, storage, digitized), spectrum, network and distortion analyzers, frequency counters, and signal generators; in interpreting complex drawings, specifications, and schematics of complete multi-system complexes such as the complete electronics package for an aircraft including numerous interconnections of signal paths both between and within individual subsystems of the multi-system complex; and in troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and maintaining electronic integrated multi-systems where circuit theory must be used to understand the operation of a large number of circuits and functions, and the interaction of subsystems which create malfunctions.
