Works under the written and verbal direction of the
supervisor. Guidance and assistance are normally available at all times, and
work is reviewed in terms of results achieved and adherence to established
standards and procedures. Routine day-to-day assignments are normally performed
independently with technical assistance available from supervisor when required.
Routine assignments are spot-checked; the more technical assignments are closely
reviewed for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions.
Serves as a team leader for program staff with
responsibility for the assigned operation of a CYS activity and program
(homework center and small satellite operation) IAW applicable CYS regulations.
Maintains control of and accounts for the whereabouts and safety of children and
youth. Oversees arrival/departure of children/youth. Supervises children and
youth during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips,
outings and special events. Works in ratio with children and
youth.
Observes a program participant for signs that may
indicate illness, abuse or neglect and reports as directed. Sets up displays and
bulletin boards. Arranges for/serves appropriate snacks/meals where applicable.
Inventories equipment on a recurring basis and recommends replenishing damaged,
missing, and depleted supplies. Secures supplies, equipment, and facilities.
Collects, maintains and reports program participation data.
Completes designated training requirements and tracks and
records training on own Individual Development Plan (IDP).
Acts as manager in
non-routine/emergency situations for purposes of opening/closing of facility,
when 15 or fewer children/youth are present.
Conditions of Employment:
1. A one-year probationary period may be required.
2. Meet all qualification/eligibility requirements.
3. A completed and signed copy DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
4. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-VERIFY) check.
5. Appointment is subject to completion of a favorable background checks/investigation to determine suitability for this position.
6. Successful completion of training requirements and demonstrated on the job competency is required.
7. All required background checks of AR 215-3, Chapter 2, paragraph 2-13; must be successfully completed and maintained including Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI). Successful completion of prescribed training (transition and/or annual) is required. Failure to achieve desired training with demonstrated competence may result in separation.
8. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility as determined by medical authority. Already immune individuals (based on documented receipt of vaccine series or physician diagnosed illness), or those subject to religious exemption, or medical contraindication are exempt from this requirement.
9. Applicant must be willing to work irregular hours to include days, evenings, occasional weekends, and on-call as needed.
