Physician will provide primarily clinical treatment to patients of the medical center in the Emergency Department. Physician must be qualified to diagnose, treat, stabilize and manage patients according to standard, usual, and acceptable methods and techniques. Physician must have an unrestricted medical license and be BLS and ACLS Certified.
Provides a full range of clinical services including assessment and using the most appropriate techniques in providing quality care in their specialty.
Performs appropriate evaluation and management of patients in an emergency medicine setting.
Orders diagnostic tests and discriminates between normal and abnormal findings and makes appropriate treatment decisions.
Ensures that the practice of medicine is consistent with Joint Commission, CARF, VA policies and procedures, medical record documentation, mandatory continuing education, and HIPPA policies.
Specific tasks are itemized in each physician's Credentialing and Privileging package.

Physical Requirements: A pre-placement physical examination will be completed prior to appointment to determine the physical and mental fitness of candidates. The examination will be concerned with the mental and physical ability of the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the proposed assignment and will include requisite laboratory and other screening as required by Federal regulatory agencies. Physician applicants must have the mental and physical ability to perform core privileges required by the specialty position in addition to any specialty privileges requested. Standing, walking, lifting light loads, assisting patients with positioning and transfers. Must be able to use a computer to input orders, review reports, etc. Must be able to communicate directions and patient orders.

social). Volunteer work helps build

experience, including volunteer experience.
