The incumbent serves as a Social Services Assistant/Group Leader for Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) enrollees, ages 15 to 18 years old. As a Social Services Assistant (YCC Group Leader) your duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

In order to qualify for the 0186 Series you must possess one of the following:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level. This experience includes: knowledge of practical methods and techniques of training and counseling; experience as a monitor, leader, supervisor, or instructor in organized work, recreation, educational, or residential situations; ability to work with youth and instruct others in proper work methods.
OR
Successful
completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's
degree that included a major in social behavior, human behavior, health
care or a similar field. (YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS).
OR
Successful
completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's
degree that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of
subjects directly related to the work of the position. (YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS).
OR
A combination of education and experience as described above, which when combined, is equivalent to 100% of the qualification requirements. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e. beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.
